VAT rate for home delivery of food slashed to 9%

Photo: BGNES

As of today, 1 December, the VAT rate on home delivery of food is reduced to 9% from the standard 20%, valid for most commodities and services in the country.

This is the latest in a series of tax advantages for the restaurant industry during the year due to the Covid-19 crisis. A lower VAT rate is in place for a number of other sectors as well – for example for books, and diapers and baby food, as well as for gyms, although they are currently closed.
