The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has announced yellow and orange code alerts for significant precipitation and icy roads in a total of 18 districts of the country on December 10.
An orange code alert for significant rainfall has been declared for 6 districts in the central and southeastern regions of the country in the districts of Smolyan, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Sliven and Yambol.
There will be "coloured snowfall" in the Rhodopes, meteorologists predict. In previous years there have been other cases of coloured snowfall in Bulgaria, as a consequence of cyclones carrying sand from the Sahara desert.
A yellow code alert for significant rainfall has been announced for the districts of Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Shumen and Burgas
Yellow code for ice formation has been issued for the districts of Vidin, Vratsa, Montana and Lovech.
