Sign language interpretation for national TV news made mandatory

Sign language interpretation for at least one of the evening news programmes of the national terrestrial TV stations BNT, bTV and Nova TV is now mandatory in order to ensure that people with impaired hearing have access to up-to-date information.

This decision was made definitively by force of the amendments approved by the National Assembly to the Radio and TV Act. Parliament also strengthened control of access, by children, to video sharing platforms by introducing age-verification systems and parental control systems.
