Inoculation in Bulgaria continues for second consecutive day

The inoculation of medics working at the frontline against Covid-19 continues for the second day in Sofia and other Bulgarian cities. Director of Sofia's Alexandrovska Hospital Professor Boris Bogov told BNR that almost all his colleagues from the Covid-19 ward have expressed a desire to get vaccinated. Yesterday, a total of 699 people were vaccinated on the first day of the campaign, Bulgaria’s Minister of Health Professor Kostadin Angelov pointed out during his visit to a Sofia hospital today. Bulgaria’s Chief State Health Inspector Dr. Angel Kunchev told BNR that at the moment there are no data on side effects among vaccinated Bulgarians.

Some vaccinated Bulgarians will undergo tests aimed to clarify the effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccine, this country’s Chief State Health Inspector Associate Professor Angel Kunchev announced in Plovdiv. In the beginning, the studies will cover 1,000 people who will be tested on the second and the sixth month, as well as one and two years after the inoculation, Angel Kunchev said, quoted by BTV. Earlier today, during a visit to a Sofia hospital, this country's Premier Boyko Borissov said that Bulgaria would receive different types of vaccines and GPs would be able to recommend different vaccines to their patients. Boyko Borissov noted that an increase in the number Covid-19 recoveries and a decrease in Covid-19 deaths has been registered in recent days which eased the pressure on Bulgaria’s health system.
