National Revenue Agency warns of fake "phishing" emails

Photo: Library

Fake emails are being distributed on behalf of Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency (NRA), the institutions warns. The fake letters contain false information about a tax refund in the amount of BGN 210 and invite the recipients to open a link in order to "fill in the method of payment", BTA reported.

It is emphasized that this is a classic phishing attack for theft of personal data such as log-in usernames, passwords and bank accounts. It is recommended that when you receive such an email, one should not open it, but immediately delete it. One should not click on the link in any case. If an error is made, the NRA recommends that the electronic device be scanned with an antivirus program or that the help of an IT specialist be sought.
