Citizens of the town of Isperih in northeastern Bulgaria, have started a petition in support of the director of the General Hospital in the city - Dr. Abdullah Zargar from Iran, calling for Bulgarian citizenship to be granted to him. Amendments to the Public Enterprises Act come into force in February, according to which a foreign citizen cannot manage them. However, the locals insist that Dr. Zargar remains the head of the medical institution, which under his leadership has become one of the leaders in the region.
