There is wide consensus on the need for legislative changes, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said during the meeting with representatives of MIR political party. The talks with non-parliamentary political formations are part of a series of consultations initiated by Bulgaria’s head of state, related to the organization of the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. A consent on providing video surveillance during the elections and the vote counting was reached as well, President Radev noted.
During the meeting with President Radev, the Chairman of the Republicans for Bulgaria party Tsvetan Tsvetanov also emphasized the need for changes to this country’s Electoral Code. According to Tsvetan Tsvetanov, the date of the regular elections should be changed as well.

President Rumen Radev said that the purpose of the consultations was to mobilize institutions, civil society organizations and parties to find solutions that would increase confidence in the electoral process.
