The date announced by the President for the parliamentary elections (April 4 this year) is absolutely unsubstantiated, but GERB will nevertheless comply, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Tsveta Karayancheva said during the celebration of the 143rd anniversary of the election of the first city council in Karlovo.

She recalled that according to the instructions of the European institutions, no changes can be made in the Electoral Code a few months before the elections, as this undermined the credibility of the election process. Tsveta Karayancheva also said that "the President makes suggestions that results that are not yet known, have been manipulated and this is a severe blow to democracy."
