Bulgaria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is doing everything possible to ensure enough polling stations for Bulgarians living abroad in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Yet the date of the elections, April 4, coincides with the date of the Catholic and Protestant Easter, as European countries may impose travel bans between their regions for the holiday. This was said in an interview with bTV by Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva.

Zaharieva expressed concern that this would prevent some Bulgarian voters abroad from reaching the polling stations.

During the discussion of the elections, conducted by President Rumen Radev with representatives of the Bulgarian communities abroad, the opinion of the Foreign Ministry was not requested in setting the date, Zaharieva said.
