6-year old Yoana Aladzhova from the town of Pleven won a bronze medal at the 50th jubilee International Children’s Picture Contest in Tokyo, organized by the Art Education Foundation in Japan.

Yoana won the medal for her painting “I am happy”. She painted herself, clad in the costume of a lazarka, lavishly decorated with embroidery and with flowers in her hair. The jury singled out her painting out of 33,600 works by children from 41 countries. The participants in the competition were free to choose their subject and use various techniques and drawing materials, BTA reports.
