The state-run opera house in the Bulgarian city of Stara Zagora ranked among the top 10 in the opera competition for European educational performances. It is organized by the Association of Philanthropists for Opera and Ballet "FEDORA" - the most prestigious platform in Europe, supporting innovation in opera and ballet.
The conceptual project of the Stara Zagora State Opera entitled “We are musicians" is aimed at creating the first Bulgarian sensory friendly interactive opera performance suitable for children and youth with special educational needs. Classical music has a beneficial effect on children with autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Down syndrome and other sensory or behavioral challenges. The idea of the music project is to enable children to experience the art of opera and feel its impact with the support of young volunteers, psychologists, resource teachers and opera artists.

After successfully passing the first round of the prestigious competition, "We are Musicians" project will compete for one of the four places for the final ranking. Among the competitors of the Stara Zagora Opera are the Royal Swedish Opera, the Royal Danish Opera, the Vienna Opera, the Montpellier Opera, the Italian Compagnia Teatrale L'Albero, the Belgian Platform-K and others. In the current round, the participants in the competition have the opportunity to acquaint the audience with their ideas, which are uploaded on the website of the FEDORA platform. There, they can receive support through online voting, which will determine one of the four finalists.
Voting for the project of the Stara Zagora State Opera is open until February 25th here.
