The possibility of having antigen testing as an alternative method in addition to PCR testing for foreign tourists at the border crossings is being considered. This is yet to be discussed with the health authorities. The news was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova during her visit to the ski resort of Bansko in Pirin Mountain.

According to her, at the moment there was an increased interest in Bulgaria’s winter resorts. Reservations cover about 50% of the available beds. Tourists are mainly from Bulgaria and Romania. There are also tourists from Serbia, Greece and North Macedonia.

Minister Nikolova’s inspection has shown that anti-epidemic measures in accommodation places and restaurants are strictly observed.
