Bulgaria’s composer and founder of Diana Express band Mitko Shterev has revived one of his most popular songs “Chrysanthemums” on occasion of his birthday (January 28). The cover version of the song was released several days ago after Mitko Shterev’s 75th birth anniversary. In 1996, the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers named him Film Composer of the Century. The song was written in 1976 for Bulgarian pop diva Lili Ivanova. The lyrics to the song were written by Ilya Velchev. “Chrysanthemums” became a music hit in just a few months thanks to the people who went to Lili Ivanova’s concerts. Moreover, this song was a music hit in Russia for 20 years, Mitko Shterev recalls.
He voiced hopes that soon he will be able to shoot a video to the cover version of “Chrysanthemums” and then start working on new arrangements of other emblematic music hits – “Old Friend of Mine” and “Doomed Souls”.
