A national cross-country race “Following in Levski’s footsteps” is being organized in the town of Troyan to mark 148 years since the death of Bulgarian revolutionary and national hero Vassil Levski, the Hemus orienteering club, one of the organizers of the event, has announced.

Due to the pandemic there will be no mass start this year. The participants, who are from all parts of the country, will follow three routes to Troyan Monastery – 3, 8 and 12-kilometres long – all of which were used by the “Apostle of Freedom” Vassil Levski.  There will be no award ceremony as in previous years. Each participant will receive a medal as they reach the finish line so as to avoid any large gatherings of people.
