The Bulgarian National Radio’s annual awards, selected by the BNR’s Public Council, were handed out at an online ceremony on the eve of World Radio Day.

“2020 was an extraordinary year, a year of surprises. It enabled each one of us to discover the innovator within ourselves,” said BNR’s Director General Andon Baltakov as he presented the award.

Vania Valkova, “Digital projects” Director who received the prize stated that the Covid-19 ordeal had shown that in times of crisis people turn to public service media for information. Last year the BNR’s website saw a 60% increase in its online users.
