In Kardzhali, Southern Bulgaria, the lack of workers has led to the need of hiring workforce from abroad, BNR correspondent Valya Apostolova reported. A company for the production of hydraulic cylinders in Kardzhali is the first in the district to hire foreign workers. 10 people from Ukraine have already started work there. Another 70 are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

At the same time, more than 2,000 people who used to work in restaurants and bars are expected to go abroad by the end of the month due to closed businesses in this country. Because of the lack of cooks in the region, local restaurateurs offering home-delivery, have started hiring chefs from Turkey.
