Bulgaria ranks 36th in the world according to the World Bank's "Women, Business and the Law" 2021 report. The index covers 190 national economies. Bulgaria has a score of 90.6 points out of 100 possible on indicators that include mobility, work, payment, marriage, parenthood, entrepreneurship, property and pensions, BTA reported.
The lowest score of the country is 25 points under the pension indicator, where the largest inequalities were reported. The main reason is the different retirement ages for men and women. Under other indicators, the country receives a maximum score because there are no restrictions on travel, work or owning property for women in this country.
