A national plan for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria should be drawn up by 30 June, 2021, and the indicative date for membership of the currency union is 1 January, 2024.
This is made clear by a draft decree by the Council of Ministers for the formation of a Coordination Council to prepare Bulgaria for membership of the Eurozone, posted on the Ministry of Finance’s website.
