560 Bulgarian teachers are currently infected with Covid-19. Their number is three times lower as compared to November last year, when 1,600 teachers had Covid-19. 90% of the teachers who voiced willingness to receive a vaccine were already inoculated against the novel coronavirus. Some of them have even received their second vaccine dose. 367 pupils have Covid-19. A total of 5,000 children are placed under quarantine, announced this country’s Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev.
“We have not yet decided to close all schools”, commented Minister Valchev. "We have been witnessing a surge in the incidence rate. Within several days, we may adopt measures in some districts, where the pressure on the health system is high", Minister Valchev went on to say. Students from 8 Bulgarian schools study online only. More than 1,000 parents have demanded that their children switch over to distance learning.
