Bulgarian schools abroad have a new mission

“Many Bulgarians returned to the country with their children because of the coronavirus pandemic and this is what the new mission of the Sunday schools abroad is connected with,” Snezhina Mecheva and Boyanka Ivanova, principals of the Bulgarian schools in London and in Chicago for many years said for the BNR.

Some of the children were born abroad and their integration into the system of education will only be successful if they are fluent in the Bulgarian language, if they are familiar with Bulgarian culture, they said.

There are 400 schools in 40 countries on 6 continents for Bulgarian children abroad. Despite the co-financing and the methodological support by the state they exist most of all because of the efforts, the resources and the enthusiasm of our fellow countrymen.
