The two biggest trade unions in Bulgaria – the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) and the Confederation of Labour Podkrepa are withdrawing from the group discussing the introducing of cumulative working hours calculation.

According to the trade unions the change is not in compliance with international standards and requirements. Meanwhile, employer organizations released a counter-declaration stating that the legal framework in this sphere is in full compliance with international norms. The trade unions collected almost 100,000 signatures of workers from all over the country who demand that cumulative working hours be valid only for sectors with an uninterruptible work process.
