Day of election silence before vote in Bulgaria

Photo: BGNES

Saturday is the day of silence before the elections in Bulgaria. Political campaigning is absolutely forbidden 24 hours before election day and on election day itself.

In addition to forbidden political campaigning, the law does not allow the publication of results of sociological surveys revealing the possible outcome in any way. Distributing new political materials is banned, as well as the destruction of already placed ones.

The day of election silence is also a day for the final preparation of the polling stations, as well as for cleaning and disinfection of the premises.

By the beginning of election day on Sunday, the Central Election Commission continues to register observers and publish their list on its website.
