Bulgarian lamb meat meets over 90% of consumer demand. The wholesale price of lamb meat is EUR 2.81- EUR 3.32  per kilogram, said the Co-chairman of the National Sheep and Goat Breeding Association Simeon Karakolev, quoted by BNR-Shumen. Bulgarian lamb is sold in competition with lamb from North Macedonia, which is 20% cheaper.

Bulgaria is at the bottom of the ranking in terms of consumption of lamb and goat meat per capita. The sector is well supported, but production is low, Simeon Karakolev said.
