Israeli tour operators call for green corridor with Bulgaria

Photo: archive

Israeli tour operators have brought up the issue of launching a green corridor with Bulgaria. Otherwise, Bulgaria may lose most of the Israeli tourists, the Honorary Consul of Israel in Burgas Orlin Mandov said for Bgtourism.bg.

Israelis are wondering why they have to present a negative PCR test upon arrival in Bulgaria, given that nearly 5 million Israeli citizens (62% of the population) have been vaccinated against Covid-19, while only 7.5% of Bulgarians have been inoculated against the coronavirus. According to Israeli tour operators, the Israeli tourists would show interest in Bulgaria again, if this country lifts the requirement for negative PCR tests and requires a vaccination certificate instead.

The first 120 Israeli tourists are expected to land in Varna tomorrow.
