University lecturers and researchers whose research work has been published by prestigious world magazines to receive bonuses to stimulate their publishing activities, this is envisaged in a national programme of the Ministry of Education and Science with a 1.75 million euro budget spanning the period up until 2024. The draft of the new programme which has been released for public debate reads that Bulgaria is among the countries with the lowest levels of publication in prestigious science magazines and that is why this activity should be stimulated by targeted financing.
