The North Atlantic Alliance encourages Sofia and Skopje to engage in a constructive dialogue to find a solution to the disputed bilateral issues, stated NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, reported the correspondent of the Bulgarian National Radio in Brussels Angelina Piskova.

At a joint briefing with North Macedonia’s President Stevo Pendarovski, who paid a visit to Brussels, Stoltenberg recalled that Skopje, Sofia and Athens had already shown courage to find a solution to the naming dispute, which paved North Macedonia’s way to NATO membership.

North Macedonia is ready to resume talks with Bulgaria to resolve the dispute and begin a dialogue with the European Union, said Stevo Pendarovski. He called on Sofia to appoint a special envoy for dialogue with Skopje. In his words, the identity topic should not be included in the negotiations, reported BNT.
