Orthodox Christians mark Good Friday

Orthodox Christians mark Good Friday today. Believers visit the Orthodox churches to attend a Good Friday service. This is the saddest day for Christians- the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. On Friday morning, all Christian temples serve a special liturgy and the Holy Shroud is exposed to laymen as a symbol of the divine presence on earth. Believers pass under the shroud all day long. In the evening, a symbolic burial service is carried out before Christ’s funeral.

Believers are observing the anti-epidemic measures. They are wearing masks and are maintaining physical distance from one another, informed the reporter of the Bulgarian National Radio Andrey Borissov who visited the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia.
