Bulgaria celebrates Labor Day

On May 1, Bulgaria celebrates Labor Day. According to the trade unions in this country, issues related to the length of the working day and remuneration remain relevant in this country.

CITUB President Plamen Dimitrov has told BNR that the union calls for equalizing the minimum monthly salary with the minimum amount of money needed for sustenance, which according to the union currently totals 639 euros a month, so that we could stop talking about "working poor". This should happen by 2025.

For the second year in a row, trade unions in this country have not organized celebrations on May 1 because of the coronavirus epidemic. BSP celebrates the day with a rally-concert entitled: "Decent Labor - Decent Life".
