Orthodox Christians are celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, a symbol of the triumph over evil and death.

Metropolitan bishop of Vratsa Grogoriy brought the Holy Fire to the St. Alexander cathedral where he conducted Easter church service. “It is our sacred duty to bear witness to the Light,” said Metropolitan bishop Grigoriy who read out the Synodal Easter message of Patriarch Neophyte who is not attending church service because of planned annual medical examinations.

“Let us every day bear witness, with our life and our deeds, to the great mercy of God to man – to the destruction of the works of darkness and the triumph of life.Because in God-Man, our Saviour, death was swallowed up in victory and no longer has power over us,” Patriarch Neophyte says in his message.
