The introduction of fully electronic prescriptions will be delayed by a month. This was announced by outgoing Deputy Minister of Health Boyko Penkov.
The reason is that hospitals were not ready with the necessary software for this. Until the end of May, we will work with both paper and electronic prescriptions, Penkov said.
The e-prescriptions were launched on December 18 with the idea to be tested and be used along with the paper ones until the beginning of May. However, the number of issued electronic prescriptions is still much smaller than that of paper prescriptions.
