The Eurovision 2021 song contest was officially opened with a ceremony in Rotterdam last night. The 39 participants in the contest were greeted on a turquoise carpet or through online appearances.

The Bulgarian representative in the competition, Victoria Georgieva, said she liked to sing about personal life stories, as this can connect people with her music.

Victoria Georgieva will perform under number 13 in the second semifinal, which will be held on May 20, 2021. To qualify for the grand final on May 22, the Bulgarian singer will compete with performers in her group from 16 other countries.

The opening ceremony was broadcast live on Eurovision's official YouTube channel.
