Historians in North Macedonia lost 3 years unwilling to accept the part of the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation, acknowledging that Bulgaria and North Macedonia share a common history, Professor Angel Dimitrov, Co-chair of the Joint Expert Commission on Historical Issues, said for bTV. Skopje says that the lack of progress is due to a series of Parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, which is not serious, noted Professor Dimitrov.

The biggest problem is that the Joint Expert Commission on Historical Issues is still discussing the Early Medieval Period. North Macedonia does not acknowledge the fact that Tsar Samuel's kingdom was Bulgarian, which is in contradiction with the historical sources, Professor Dimitrov said. The Joint Expert Commission on Historical Issues will meet again on June 14, announced Angel Dimitrov.
