In an interview with BNR, Bulgarian Ambassador in London Marin Raykov, has denied information spread by Bulgarian media that he had sent a letter to the Central Election Commission (CEC) requesting that the number of polling station expected to be opened in the UK be significantly reduced.
The website of the Bulgarian Embassy in the United Kingdom has refuted the information stating that the embassy proposed a nearly threefold increase in the number of polling stations in comparison to the previous elections. "This is our wish, but it is clear that the decision can be made only by the Central Election Commission - CEC. The decision of the CEC will reflect the number of applications for voting, but also the availability of suitable premises, and last but not least - the successful or unsuccessful recruitment of appropriate staff for each station," the Bulgarian Embassy in the United Kingdom said.
