Bulgaria’s caretaker Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Boyko Rashkov was stripped off access to classified information for a period of 3 years, announced the Chairman of the State Agency for National Security (SANS) Dimitar Georgiev. Earlier today, this country’s caretaker cabinet has proposed to President Radev to release Dimitar Georgiev from the post of Chairman of SANS.

According to Dimitar Georgiev, Boyko Rashkov was stripped off access to classified information two years ago and the decision was not contested. The security sector works with classified information, underlined Georgiev.

Dimitar Georgiev stated that so far, he has not committed any violations and that his actions have not been detrimental to the reputation of the State Agency for National Security. Dimitar Georgiev has objected to the allegations that SANS wiretapped politicians, informed the reporter of the Bulgarian National Radio Nikolay Hristov. In Dimitar Georgiev’s words, the proposal for his removal from the position of Chairman of SANS is connected with the revelation of Russian espionage in Bulgaria.
