"The joint trip of delegations from Bulgaria and North Macedonia to Rome and the homage paid to the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius is a wonderful occasion to renew the dialogue between the two countries at the highest level." This was stated to journalists in Skopje by President Rumen Radev after a conversation with his counterpart from North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski. The two met before Pendarovski's delegation joined the Bulgarian delegation led by President Radev, to visit the Vatican and the Italian Republic.
For the first time, the two delegations travelled together to Rome to pay tribute to the work of St. Cyril and St. Methodius.
At a meeting with journalists, Stevo Pendarovski said that the two sides should restore trust and talk as friends on the most difficult issues that hinder their dialogue. "We are here to calm the atmosphere and talk about this problem that stands between us last year in a different language," Pendarovski added.
