The Central Election Commission (CEC) is launching a public procurement procedure for the delivery of an additional 1,500 voting machines needed for the elections on 11 July.

The maximum price is 3.25 million euro, VAT excluded. The procedure will once again be negotiated with the company Ciela Norma. CEC deputy chair Emil Voynov explained that this is rendered necessary because of the amendments to the Election Code. The additional machines will be of the same kind and model as the ones from the previous tender; if the need arises up to 500 more machines can be delivered for the presidential elections in the autumn. The two representatives of GERB party voted against with the motive that it is as yet unclear how many of the polling stations will have two voting machines.
