In an interview with, the head of Ciela Norma, Veselin Todorov, expressed his doubts that any market research or consultations for determining the budget needed for buying the additional voting machines for the upcoming parliamentary elections had taken place.

The CEC set a budget of 3.3 million euros for the additional machines, but the company wants about 7.5 million euros, saying that otherwise it would go bankrupt. After an amendment to the Election Code, machine voting has become mandatory in stations with more than 300 voters, both in this country and abroad.
