The main goal of the exhibition is to present the current artistic horizons of Europe, examining contemporary European art after the fall of the Iron Curtain and pointing out the importance of intercultural dialogue today. The exhibition features works by 90 artists from 34 countries.
”Bulgaria is represented by internationally renowned artist Nedko Solakov, whose works have been shown at the most prestigious forums for contemporary art. His works are in possession of more than 50 museums and are part of corporate collections, including MoMA (New York), Tate (London), Pompidou Center (Paris).
Young artist Martina Vacheva is a representative of the new generation of contemporary artists in Bulgaria, who had her first solo exhibition just 5 years ago in her native city of Plovdiv. She has also had a solo exhibition at one of Germany's three largest museums - the Folkwang Museum and is winner of the award of the 33rd Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts.
"Diversity United. Contemporary European Art" opens on June 8 in the former Tempelhof Airport in Berlin and can be seen until September 19. In 2021 the exhibition will also pay a visit to Paris and Moscow.
