About 6,000 people have been waiting to receive Bulgarian citizenship, according to the Ministry of Justice. The procedure for obtaining certificates with a Presidential Decree has been delayed, as there were a large number of Decrees, which the necessary certificates had not been issued for, BGNES reported.
In the period May 31 to June 8, a total of 1,070 certificates of citizenship were issued by the Bulgarian Citizenship Directorate. The Ministry say that they have been working to increase the number of service hours that can be booked online and added that thanks to the new measures the long waiting would be overcome.
