Culinary and wine tourism must be included in the strategies and activities of Bulgaria's tourist sector. This was commented by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Georgi Sabev during a meeting of the National Tourism Council held in the town of Sliven, the ministry press office reported. Deputy The Minister pointed out that Bulgarians, like all other inhabitants of the world, are becoming more and more sympathetic to the fate of small producers and are interested in their products. Unfortunately, these products are not so well represented in regional production strategies. According to Sabev, European quality schemes can protect both food and agricultural products, as well as beverages, wines and others.
Among the main topics raised at the meeting were the development of tourism in the context of Covid-19, the measures for support of businesses and the capacity of Bulgaria as a tourist destination. An important focus was the stimulation of domestic tourism through the development of tourist areas.
