Company owners and members of the public are organizing a protest in Gotse Delchev today to protest against the restrictions set down by the Greek authorities to passage across the Ilinden-Exochi border check point.
At the moment heavy-duty lorries can only enter Greece from 7 AM until 11 PM, a ban on entry of cars and passengers has been in place since November last year.
The people affected by the restrictions say that it makes no sense to keep the check point closed to tourists and trucks as the Covid-19 situation is under control and summer travel to the Greek coastline is at its height. The organizers of the protest have sent letters to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry and to the diplomatic missions of neighbouring countries affected by the restrictions.
