A contest is being launched to find a name for a new Bulgarian research vessel, to be used by the Varna Naval Academy and the St Kliment Ohridski University, Sofia, Admiral Prof. Boyan Mednikarov said for BNR’s Radio Varna.
The name must not go against Christian Orthodox tradition, it must be easy to pronounce and spell in English, and must include Bulgarian symbols.
The ship was built in Norway and will start sailing under a Bulgarian flag as of 29 June. The new ship must have a number and a name to be registered with the navy. Suggested names can be emailed to: name-421@naval-acad.bg, until 30 June.
