On June 24, Midsummer's Day (the birth of St. John the Baptist), known in Bulgaria as Enyovden and the holiday of herbs, will be celebrated at the Sofia University Botanical Garden in the Bulgarian capital.
There will be a bazaar of medicinal and aromatic plants and spices throughout the day. Before noon, the programme for children will include a lesson entitled "Botanists explore", as the theme is "The Blossoms of Plants."

In the early afternoon the first lesson of the new series "School of Horticulture for young and old" will be held showing how to arrange a balcony box with spices, how to grow them and recipes for their use.

There will also be a botanical walk with a guide, which will introduce visitors to the medicinal plants grown in the botanical garden.
