The delta coronavirus variant has not caused any significant damage in Bulgaria yet, mathematician Professor Nikolay Vitanov said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Television. The low circulation of the Delta coronavirus variant in this country is probably due to the holiday season, the vaccination campaign and the spread of the variant in clusters, noted Professor Vitanov.

On the other hand, the widespread British variant also contributes to the low spread of the Delta variant. According to Professor Vitanov, vaccination is the only real weapon that could reduce the strength of the new wave of Covid-19 which is expected in September.
