Interior Minister: Bulgaria's police acts against vote buying for July 11 elections

In Plovdiv, votes have been purchased on behalf of the GERB party. This was stated to the BNR's Horizon channel by caretaker Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov. As proof, he pointed to a business card found by a GERB MP in the previous parliament, but did not mention the name of the politician. "The prosecutor's office needs to provide more information from now on," the caretaker minister called, asking the state prosecution to say whether an investigation had already been launched.

According to the interviewed witnesses, it has become clear that in the previous elections on April 4 in the Roma neighborhood in Stolipinovo votes were bought for 15 euros. But now the police are working to prevent the purchase of votes from happening again on July 11, Rashkov explained. 
As an example of prevention, the minister named the city of Burgas where 9 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated. The Minister also announced that a house has been investigated in the Svilengrad region, where company cash books with turnovers were found, as well as lists with the names of 28,000 voters in the region.
