More than 70% of the staff has been vaccinated against Covid-19 in 4% of the schools and in 3% of the kindergartens. In two-thirds of the schools and three-quarters of the kindergartens, Covid-19 vaccines have been administered to less than 30% of the staff, indicates a survey of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Education and Science conducted in the beginning of July.
Vaccinating school and kindergarten staff is crucial to the normal functioning of in-person school attendance. That is why the Ministry of Education and Science has launched an information campaign aimed to promote inoculation against Covid-19 in this country’s education system. Schools which have reached 70% vaccination rate are to receive a special certificate for contribution to public health. Teachers who have received Covid-19 vaccines will be entitled to two extra days of paid leave.
