Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a letter from the Central Election Commission, which reads that following a decision adopted on July 11, 2021, the applications for voting abroad under Article 33, paragraph 2 of the Electoral Code - Appendix № 22-NA are valid, irrespective of where they are filled in and signed by the voters.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has immediately notified all diplomatic and consular representations asking them to disseminate the information to the sectional election commissions obroad.

The decision of the Central Election Commission came after a conflict in a polling station located in Avcilar residential district in Istanbul, where polling agents wanted to suspend voting, because some voting applications were filled in outside the polling station.
