Sofia is finalist for Green Capital of Europe 2023

The Bulgarian capital is a finalist in the competition Green Capital of Europe together with three other cities, and has a great chance to win a prize for 2023, reads the website of the Green Sofia project of the Sofia Municipality. 

In 2020, along with 15 other municipal administrations across Europe, Sofia took part in the competition for the Green Capital of Europe 2023 award. European Commission experts have ranked Sofia among the finalists, along with the cities of Tallinn in Estonia, Krakow in Poland and Helsingborg in Sweden. 

The jury evaluates the progress made by the cities in 12 aspects and gives recommendations on the measures that should be implemented. The final of the competition will take place on September 9 in the city of Lahti, Finland.
