Once again the Mayor of Kurdzhali Hasan Azis brought together parish priest Father Petar and regional mufti Basri Eminefendi for coffee, on the occasion of Kurban Bayrami.

Immediately after the great prayer, the three sat down at a table in the centre of the town, where Mayor Hasan Aziz treated them to banitsa and baklava, BNR Kurdzhali reports.

This tradition goes back 20 years on every holiday as a symbol of the tolerance of the local people. “We share our feast days whatever our ethnicity or religion,” Hasan Aziz said.
