The St. George hospital in Plovdiv is the first hospital in the country to have acquired a revolutionary Covid-19 disinfection robot.The biggest state-run medical establishment in the country obtained it, free of charge, thanks to a commission placed by the EC, BNR-Plovdiv reports.
The robot, which uses UV light and destroys other pathogens as well, is 99.9% effective. The EU has allocated a total of 12 million euro for the purchase of no less than 200 robots for medical establishments, said Tsvetan Kyulkanov, head of the EC representative office in Sofia.
Other hospitals in Bulgaria are also expected to receive specialized disinfection robots.
